US $240-260 and $20 or so more for the extra 20 bearings.

Raptor 30 cost

Don't forget the $40.00 for a decent muffler also when comparing to other kist. As some of the other kits come with one included in the kit pricing.

30 vs 50

I had to upgrade to a 50 when my skills progressed passed loops and rolls. The 30 did not have enough power to do what I wanted it to do. Also, power can help to bail you out if you goof.
Don't forget that the longer blades help all flight characteristics including auto performance.

And since the Raptor 50 is about $25 more and it comes with MANY upgrades (the muffler and the swashplate to name a few) over the 30 it is a great deal. The only other added costs are a bigger engine (about $60 more) and higher fuel consumption. I really think that if you can afford the 50 then get the 50. You will not have to worry about upgrading then. If the 50 is not enough heil for you the only option then is a 60, and there are many price implications there.

I Say 30's Are A Better Value

IMHO, I think 30's are a better value over all. They use much less fuel, are cheaper to buy, are less expensive to fix (in a major crash), use less expensive baldes and can do almost anything a 50 can do (with the right pilot of course). -Steve

Crash Costs

The crash parts for the 50 are 99% identical to the 30. The boom is $1 more and the blades are $2 more.

As for capability you might be right. But why would there be a 50 upgrade if there was no difference? The power gain the 50 engine provides is substantial. Sure the 30 might be able to barely do Tic-Tocks, but the 50 can pull them all day. Even the best pilots cannot compensate fully for lack of power.

Hey has anyone ever got the ARF from CyberHeli? They have it w/ engine for $299.99, although you gotta pay shipping from Hong Kong.

I was just wondering because im about to order one, but they dont have a real good shipping cost calculator, and would like to know what anyone else paid to the US.

Wish they sold it with the OS 32 though

AnkeneyOU,

I would suggest, as I always do, that you should always buy the kit version and build it yourself. The major advantages of assembling it yourself are that you:

1.) Know that the heli was assembled correctly the first time. There have been several people complaining about incorrectly built ARF models, and if even one cap screw isn't loc-tited right and backs out the result could be catastrophic.

2.) Know exactly how everything goes together so that when you have to repair it (and you will) you'll know the difference between what's bent and what isn't and how best to fix it.

I would say that an ARF model is better suited to an experienced builder and pilot who can identify problems with the factory assembly immeadiately and is too lazy or rushed to build it himself.
