I'm brand new to the hobby and thinking about getting a Corona 120. I live at 8000' elevation so I decided on electric. This will be my first heli and I read somewhere NOT to buy the kits LMH sells, just the heli.
Anyone have an suggestions on a good setup? I was told at that altitude to get longer rotor blades, any ideas on what brand or type? Also what type of other items should I get (e.g., motor, esc, gyro, etc?)
Recommended brands and models would be appreciated.

Thanks

I think a higher elavations the recommened set up is either 2*-2* or 2*-4* grips . I don't believe that there is a longer blade for the 120 . There is a shorter blade from the 110 model though . The set-up that I have right now that happens to rock , is as follows :
-Hacker C40-12T
-CC35 ESC
-Futaba GY240 gyro
-9 thooth pinion
-GP3300 7&8 cells { 8 cells are sweet}
-Hitec 555 receiver
-JR landing gear {for lower battery mount}
-Hitec 81mg servos
I would also recommend not to get the kits but to piece iti together . There are several good set ups that guys are using this just happens to be the one I decided to do after a couple months of research and have been very pleased with

For higher elevations, you should probably use a pair of the 6 degree grips. In thin air you'll have plenty of rotor speed but not much "bite" so more pitch will be your best option.
