Playing around with more aerial video last night
at my local R/C field.

It's a little shakey from wind.
I also was trying to film a plank the size of a
large pizza tray without a cam operator.

You're having way too much fun with video...

Is there a way on your camera to turn off the auto-gain so that it won't go bright/dark as you get more of the sky or ground onto the chip?

Hi Greg,

I don't see anything in the manual in regards to Auto Gain.
Is that the equivelent to an Exposure Variable?
I can manually set the shutter/aperature. Would
you recommend that?
(This is my first video camera so I have no clue what I'm doing, but I am having fun.....)

btw...I talked to John O. last monday about ordering a K2 and he mentioned Kenlabs is making a new gyro that John is fine tuning for the
30 mount.

Manually setting the shutter/aperture would fix it. What happens when it is on automatic is that whenever the camera 'sees' most of the image is sky it shuts down the aperature, when it sees more ground, it opens it up.

Fine for stills, but for video it can get a bit obnoxious and you'll get the flashing. The hardest part is guessing what the best average will be.
