Hi Folks,

I am a newbie and am still working on my hovering. Nose to the left is fine. Nose in is not bad. I just can't seem to do nose to the right. I can do it fine on the simulator, but not on the real thing. The heli is a Raptor 30 with wood blades. Is it just me or is this a common problem?

Right handed people "enjoy" viewing the LH side of the heli better, This is normal, burn fuel

Thanks Doug. If that is true, will being dyslexic improve my inverted flying

Doug,

I must be backwards then..I'm right handed and like looking at the right better than the left. Left inward turns nose in make me nervous whereas right outward turns nose in I'm fine..go figure.

I know the problem areas and have been focusing on mixing them into my normal flight patterns though. Now if I could only get the sim running under Linux I'd use it more, maybe that would help lol

Just an off-the-cuff idea... you have the heli completely trimmed out, right? If it's trimmed a little off, maybe it's just being a little unmanageable from that orientation? Everyone gets a little nervous when their heli starts to get too cozy. ;-)

The heli is in good trim. My problem is when I do move, things get out of control. It is just a little disconcerting that I can do nose in, that everyone complains about and not this. I have three gallons of fuel and crash kit in the garage. They will be used as soon as possible.

You could try turning your body to the right. This might help get you through the uncomfortable stage. I have the opposite problem with nose left and btw i'm left handed.

Everyone seems to have a weak side. Just burn tons of fuel, and concentrate your efforts on your weak points. Soon your weak points become your strong points.

Everyone has a weak side and bad habits.
I am good for it too
landing right to left, rolling right to left
Just burn fuel and work through it
Stop bad habit before they start, the quicker the better.
If you land left to right next time land right to left
BURN MORE FUEL

Another gallon of fuel burnt over the weekend. It is getting better, but need lots more work. Forward flight is starting to progress somewhat.
