people started asking me for details (part lists, used materials, etc) for my camera mount... when i started building this mount i wasn't expecting that people would like to build the same as mine....

i will enjoy to write down the parts that i have used and do some basic drawings and pls be kindly with me cause i am not an engineer.
that will be happened when i ll be back from the eastern holiday's.

the philosophy of my mount
i am from greece and unfortunately most from the people that are selling camera mounts are far far away from me. i hate the visa card thing and i haven't got one and another?? if i should pay over a thousand of USD for a mount i said myselph y don't i try to build a mount compatible with my raptor 60. u see i am into rc helis almost a year and in general in rc toys. when i started this mount i had something i mind. (to try build something CHEAP) not exclusivly very cheap but cheap... so i could have the first idea on how a photo can be taken from the air and how this could help my job... the true is that this thing flying with all this expensive equipment is something (camera,v-links,servos,etc)!!!!! u have to understand that as it goes up sometimes will not come with the same atidude down.

anyway i have to say that there are people in here that they are doing this for a long time. i wouldn't mind share with u my decency knowledge to this forum that mark provided it us but you have to know that u are doing it BY UR OWN RISK!!!

P.S.: anyway Mark if u see this post, could u start a new topic of how to build your own mount? it could help lots of these people in here and me 2

regards
john

Here's mine (built from scratch)

Here's a mount I started for my Bergen Gasser, then stopped for a break...now starting back up to completing it. I will cover the skids with foam padding to cut down on the vibration and to keep metal-from-touching-metal. I am not quite sure on how he photos will come out, but I will keep you posted after first photo-taking test flight. (The platoons are not for landing on water, but when I fly over the beach or ocean, and if the heli were to go down, I don't want it to sink to the bottom of the ocean)...take care!

That's an awesome looking mount the way it attaches to the fuselage.
I'm not sure I would recommend a hard mount to the fuselage if using an IC engine. (You've transferred the high speed buzz to the mount which I would think would amplify the problem once it finds it's way to the ends of the skids.)

btw...I would love to see some aerials from your neighborhood...

Cheers,
Jeff
