Yes, LiPo cells are still pretty expensive, but with them you can get about a 30 minute flight time, so the short-flight-time argument goes out the window. And once you have them, recharging is cheap!
Quiet: Electric wins (very important for professional shoots!)
Less Vibration: Electric wins
Payload: What will you be carrying? Unless you want to lift a 35mm movie camera or huge HiDef rig, spinning 800mm blades on a big electric will lift just about anything you will reasonably want to carry.
For professional photography use: Well, that is what I do, and when I see people with results like Jeff Scholl and Michael Shetler and others here also using them, it is enough to keep me away from gas!
I just want you to think these things through with current info before you make a decision! A year ago I wouldn't have considered an electric for professional use either! Things are changing quickly with the technologies available, before you spend that kind of money make sure you have investigated all the options. Then you will be making an informed decision, no matter which way you go, and won't be kicking yourself in a few months for not having all the facts!
Let us know what you end up with,
Greg
