Crashr30 Senior Heliman Location: DFW
| I have been dealing with one of the original Fury helis. This one has the ugly frames, the ones with the clear coat turning to goo. This heli has a BC6 glitch counter on it. It is on PCM. The counter will pick up 3 to 7 lockouts per heavy 3d flight. Piro flips seem to trigger. ( Do not be too impressed, I'm not doing the flips, my buddy is.) Anyhow the bird does not appear to actually lockout, but BC6 says otherwise. Screws have been tightened, receiver changed, antenna repositioned, mainshaft bearings replaced, clutch assembly replaced, clutch bell rebuilt by MA. Still has the short shaft for the tail rotor driveshaft though. Has a new tailrotor driveshaft. Anybody have any ideas? My buddy loves the bird but the glitch is a concern. Could it be possible that we should ground tailboom to frame of copter? I have heard of this on carbon birds but this, as you all know, is G-10 frames which I know little about. Could it just be a flaky BC6? Another one has not been tried. Any thoughts on this would be great. Thanks |
