I heard word about a heli of the piccolo size that had (or been converted to?) collective and was able to fly inverted, loop, roll, etc...all inside some hobby show pavilion somewhere...sounded too cool to me
if it aint bs, whats the address?

i bet the pilot/builder is a Seattlite, a perfect heli to dodge all the soccer matches and wet blankets!

"coming soon"

There are two popular indoor helis, the Piccolo and the Hornet. Both were fixed-pitch (no collective) when they came out, so the aerobatic potention was very limited. Both manufacturers have been saying the collective pitch versions would be available soon, but both have had some setbacks. I have heard rumors of the CP Piccolo being released, but haven't seen one for sale yet. Modelsport (the people who make the Hornet) say that theirs will be available in January 2002.

Here's some news about the CP Hornet:
http://www.mscomposit.com/MS_Compos.../cp_hornet.html

Here's some info about the CP Piccolo - it's in German though:
http://home.arcor.de/jbsseiten/Piccolo/PitchPic.htm

There are a number of people out there converting Hornets to collective pitch using flybarless heads built from 30-size tail rotor parts, you can read about their projects here:
http://www.hornet-heli.com/cgi-bin/...gi?action=intro

I've been thinking about getting a collective Hornet when they're ready. Indoor 3D sounds like a lot of fun, and yes I do live in the Seattle area.

Have we met?

hey nate, we met a few years ago, real name's Case....I stopped flying out at scarymoore w/ any frequency when i moved up north a few years ago, now I'm back in N Seattle, the commute over to the eastside on just about any day or time spoils my enjoyment of the hobby!

I'm looking for something that I could legitimately fly at the nearest public fields after every damn soccer match gets off those nice snipits of r/c playground.... something flyable w/o getting an earful from the safety paranoid. I find if it cant be heard too well , it isnt such an attractive nuisance....and if it cant be seen, then its a parkflyer, and who gives a sh!t about those.
