Which of these is best for a newbie? (if you think a different one is better, just post a reply saying so)
Thanks

I will tell you in my opinion, if you have some sim time to buy the Hawk SEV2, it's the best buy, what I mean by best buy is you get about $250 in upgrades, but don't learn on the $80 main blades that come with it, put those on a shelf and get some wood blades to learn on !!! But I have to tell you, even though I think that the Hawks are a great heli they do have a higher parts count,,, the Raptor is a easier heli to build and set up, and the Raptor is well loved buy a lot of flyers,,, the Hirobo is a nicely refined heli but I think it is a little over priced,,, and I would tell you to buy any of the other 3 over the Nexus. I have a HawkSEV2 and a Raptor 30.

the Wasp

don't hate me because I own a Hawk SEV2..

Hawks are the way to go

I have been flying a Hawk and Falcon since they were released several years ago. Never had any parts problems and prices are very affordable, especially for the beginner. The newer Hawk IV seems much improved over my helicopter which will only add to your confidence in the helicopter.

Good luck.

SEV2 stands for: Special edition version2.
I agree with Wasp, the Hawk SE version or the Rappy are hands down the best choices for beginners, the Hawk has the easiest to understand prints manual but once a Rappy has been constructed they are easy afterwards too. Put a tube drive in the SE and its a nice all around machine lateron. They run around $299 from Heliworld.

I haven't had experience with other helis, but I'm very happy with my Raptor. I would recommend the R50 if you can get a deal on it. When I bought mine, it was $30 more than the R30, which got me an OS50 instead of a TT30, a carbon frame stiffener, bigger blades, metal swashplate, and a reinforced tail. That's quite a lot of upgrade for 30 bucks.
