Kyosho Caliber 30 & 60 - Concept - Nexus > Swift Body or alternative

I just wondered if anyone could tip me of an alternative body than the Swift for Caliber 60? I have a hard time finding a dealer who can provide the Swift or the Swift II.

My Swift body was damaged in a minor crash so I bought a Staysee for my Caliber 60.

I am assembling the body into it now so I can say the quality is good as compared to the Swift.

This is the option you could consider.

BTW, FunTech sell the fully painted Dobashi or Sensui style Staysee for Caliber. This also could be your another option.

Cheers,

Chris

Hi Wayne,

You're exactly right about the C of G position with a fuse as I played with the BlackSharks many times to get it right. My Staysee is ready to test flight now so, instead of scratching my head, could you advise on how much nose weight to put in so as to position the CofG into where?

Many Thanks,

Chris

Your advice certainly helps, Wayne.

I set my C60 up as per what you said and test fly it at the last weekend. My C60+Staysee now flys with 60gm lead weight in the canopy.

I enjoyed it very much.

Many Thanks,

Chris

determine nose or tail heavy

Hi Wayne&Chris,

Some quick questions for ya.

1. In regards to squaring the swatchplate to main mast, do you need a tool which clamps onto the mast and do visual check? Before such check, I believe you need to have heli sitting on levelled ground too, right ?

2. I always hear people doing this to balance their helis, does that really work? Take rotor head out and clamp main mast side ways on vise, so heli pivots on main mast. If tail falls to the bottom then its tail heavy and vice versa. The question the heli is balanced without rotorhead, after the head is put back on, will the balance change much ?

3. If question 2 above is okay to do, do you balance before and after the heli been put into fuse ? or only after ?

Wayne,

Why is it so importane to have the swash plate level in a hover?
Don't you trim your model according to the wind direction?

Wayne,
I'm only intrested in contest flying so your replys help alot!

I'm not sure if I completly understand you, but is it posibble to make
my heli hover tail into the wind as stable as if it was hovering nose into the wind? (my heli is level with the tank 3/4 full). I've seen your hovering maneuvers at the 2001 wc finals and I was amazed to see how stable your heli looked no mater where you pointed it and no mater how strong was the wind!

About flybar ratio, what should be more important, flybar ratio or paddles weight? In order to get the roll rate fast enough, I can use a slightly lower ratio with 50'g paddles or use the higher ratio lower weight combo, which would you prefer? (0 delta)
