Miniature Aircraft Nitro/Gas Helicopters > Trick to adjust the Fury's flybar arms angle

Just in case you guys want to know I came up with a trick to adjust the arms angle.

With the two ball links attached tighten one arm, rotate it all the way to the blade holder and keep it there while the other arm is rotated against the head block and tighten the second arm.

This will give you the ideal angle for maximum travel possible.

Good idea, sure beats my "That Looks About Right"approach.
Any idea how much drop this gives?

Does that work with both the down angled arms and straight arms or just straight as in the diagram.

another trick it buy:

MA plastic washout hub
2 MA studded balls (screw into holes on hub)
2 short rods
4 ball links.

Make it the rods exactly the same length
and you can slip it on the mainshaft and
be assured that the flybar arms are exactly
at the same angle.

A poor mans version of the old T&T setup
fixture.

I have always set mine parallel to each other or in other words straight across from each other. Looking at the diagram I have had mine wrong the whole time.

I have done a tool for the 0840 rotorhead that also should work with the 0848 rotorhead. It is two L-arms that Im bolting where the links on the support tube for the flybar is. And with the flybar lock attatched you get a perfect set up.
I have a picture but I dont know how to post it here so e-mail me if you want to see it.

I made a correction to the original post.
I forgot to mention that to get the ideal maximum travel you need to do it with the two ball links attached.

Augusto,

I think your tip would work fine with or without the links installed. After reading your original post yesterday, I set mine up without the links on. I ended up with plenty of travel with a decent clearance between link and blade grip at full cyclic deflection.

Excellent idea!

Eric now that I think about it you're right.
If you add one ball link it will separate the balls a distance equal to the thickness of the plastic wall between the blade holder and the metal ball. This same distance shows at the other ball so it works the same.

Thanks for the comment.

Augusto.
