I am looking at putting a YS-80 in a Vigor CS and need to use a 10T pinion and 88T main gear. In looking for the parts I noticed that the 84T main gear that comes in the kit has two flavors JRP996030 84T Main Gear (in kit) and JRP960504 CNC 84T Main Gear (optional). Does anyone know if there is a CNC version of the 88T main gear and does it really make a difference if it is CNC or not?

just go get the JRP960504.

JRP960504 CNC 84T Main Gear (optional). will work fine with ys80 and low noies too. but price high then the JRP996030 84T Main Gear.

I run a 8.8 ratio in my CS with my .80. It's a perfect combo. They don't make a CNC 88T. Most are running an 8.8 with the .80's, the cheap 88T works just fine.

just try 84T

if you are use the JRP996030 84T Main Gear (in kit) is ok to use. but noise. if you try to use JRP960504 CNC 84T Main Gear (optional). you can see a lot difference show you. the ys 80 best gear is about 8.3 to 8.6 may be I think. I'm runing 10T pinion with the JRP960504 CNC 84T Main Gear (optional).

The Team Guys experimented and if I recall correctly they seemed to prefer the 8.8 (10-88) to the 8.4. With a .91 the 8.4 (10-84) ratio is used.

my jr superio is use this the 8.8 (10-88) I think it is too high for the ys 80 with gp4 680 but I don't have the 84T Main Gear to change. because my vigor cs use 8.4 with ys 80 with 700 3dv is work fine.

A head speed of 1800 at a ratio of 8.8 will put the.80 in the 15.8K range. I see no problem with that.

KSJ has a red 88 tooth cnc main gear that will fit the Vigor.
I use it and a 11 tooth pinion to make the gear ratio 8:1 for OS 91 in a CS.

Hi Andy,

I don't remember the part # but it is made by JR. I got it in Japan. KSJ also has a new 11 tooth pinion with bearing part #999. Maybe you can get it from Cyberheli?
