try just a very small amount of blue loctite on the head of the screw. don't get it inside the carb. i did this to mine and it stopped the problem. mine would actually close all of the way in about fifteen seconds causing the engine to die.

Needle loosening

Loctite and just some good old medium Cya both work, but the nitro in the fuel will break them down with time. I've used teflon tape from the hardware store - the same as the plumbers use to seal pipe joints, and it worked fine. hope this helps. Steve.

This is a fairly common problem with the TT engines and the vibration can cause the o-ring to wear.

The best fix that I have seen is a small peice of fuel tubing pushed over the end of the needle valve so that the tubing is over the needle valve and the needle valve seat.

This does three things:

1. Dampens the vibration reducing wear to the needle valve and seat.

2. Keeps the needle valve from vibrating out of adjustment.

3. Helps seal the needle valve should the o-ring start leaking.

Hi I had the same problem some time ago. CA and locktite are only short term solutions.

I took the idle needle out and squeezed it with a small side cutter to deform the threades in 2 or 3 places. If you can't get the needle out , turn it all the way out and then push it from the inside of the barrel with a bent piece of wire. It is the o-ring that is holding it in, even after it is completely unscrewed. Don't flatten the thread with a pair of pliers, just force them apart with a side cutter. It makes the needle quite tight to screw in but it won't move by itself.
