e-Lite Machines Corona > Antenna mounting question

I want to mount the antenna on the back of the crutch. It's the Deans, and the directions state that the more vertical it stands, the better the reception. However, the blades will strike it if it sits up high. So, can I mount it nearly horizontally on the crutch, along side the tail boom and still have good reception? I'd appreciate any suggestions, thanks, Steve.

Yep. The standard mounting position places the antenna horizontal. I kept mine horizontal, but chose to move it to the back of the crutch.

Hey Nitrocrushr, thanks for the pictures. That's good to know. From what I could see of it, your heli looks nice. I have the VE struts and built a gyro table for the rear crutch too. It looks like your way of constructing the VE struts to fit the Corona was more clever than mine. I used plastic body, cork, and a couple nyties and painted it black. but yours looks a bit cleaner. See ya, Steve.

Hello again, I forgot to ask something. I was curious where you got the anntena mounting device from? Thanks, Steve.

Hi Steve,

Thanks for the compliments The antenna mount is actually a plastic mounting bracket that I had from an old mini blind. I drilled it out for the antenna and it worked perfectly.
