I have a chance to buy a JR 10x for a really good price, however I do not want to buy a JR rx as they are not dual conversion. Since Futaba and JR are not compatable I was considering using the Hitec reciever, has anyone used one of these for a heli and if so are the reliable?

part two to this question is would I be better off just buying a new 8uhps
I can get either of these for $400.00

if anyone can help with these two issues i would appreciate it.

I've been using a Hitec rx in my Nexus for about a year. I'm using it with a Futaba 8U though. No radio problems at all. (knock on wood)

JR and Hitec

I used the Supreme with my 10sx for awhile but got the occasional hit.

A buddy is still using a supreme and gets a couple hits a day. Nothing big, but with a metal 60 size heli you're going to get glitches sooner or later with an FM Rx.

JR does make dual conversion Rx's but they aren't cheap.

I'm using the 940 right now and haven't had a glitch since going to it.

JR has a new Rx that is DC as well but I can't remember the part #,
it's either the 945 or the 955. The RD1000 available abroad is DC too I think.

If you're flying a plastic 30 go with the Supreme, if your flying a metal 60 try and hold out for a decent DC Rx.

Or just fly Futaba

Either way, good luck!

receiver

I don't think you can buy a better receiver than hitec.Their radios are getting alot better but their receivers have always been the best out there.

Hitec vs Hobbico

I use to use a Hitec Supreme 8 receiver with my Futaba 9Z. But, I got nothing but hits. I switched to a "real" Futaba receiver and have never had a problem.

I guess the old saying is true. "You get what you pay for".

Also, why would you want to buy a Hitec receiver when you can buy a Futaba 127DF reciver (with the crystal) brand new for only $49.99? I am refering to the Hobbico Command FM receiver. As we all know, it is actually a Futaba 127DF with the Hobbico sticker on it.

Because the radio I purchased this morning was a JR10X
and the futaba reciever however nice it may be will not work with my radio.
and the jr recievers are around 175.00 and upward depending on where you go.

I just wanted to know if the hitecs were reliable enough to trust in my heli

Will the JR radio do phase shifting?? Hitecs are like Futaba, negative shift.

There used to be a problem with Hitec receivers and the 9Z. This was identified and fixed in the receivers' design several years ago, but no doubt the older receivers are still out there.

Hitec make receivers for both JR and Futaba shift. They are good receivers as far as PPM receivers go.

Some Hitec receivers are shift selectable with a jumper plug.

Dual conversion won't help with metal heli glitches. The stuff (marketing BS name: ABC&W) JR had to do to make single conversion palatable might help a bit, even if it doesn't overcome the single converion problems.

the Hitec reciever that I am looking at is made for JR or Airtronics
it is a positive so there shouldnt be a problem there I was just concerned about reliabilty.

thanks for all the answers I really think that you guys helped me with my question.
