Hi,

I have an os 61 that had a piece of something stuck so as to make it hard to turnover. I disassembled the engine and found a slight scoring on the piston and cylinder wall. Cleaned all up and proceeded to break the piston ring while trying to install it. Now how do u get that ring compredded to fit in the cylinder and with a new ring do I need to scuff up the bore a bit to help the new ring seat. The last option would to buy a new 61sx which I can get for $190 shipped.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Inside out.

If you try to install the piston from the top down it'll be a bitch. Try it from the crankshaft side. There is camfer on the bottom end of the piston liner which will enable you to slide the piston in.
