Need some recomendations on the prefered servos for the Logo 10. What are you guys using, I am leaning towards the Futaba 3102 although I can't find them in stock. They are only $34.95 a piece and I have always had great perfomance and service with futaba products. Any suggestions on Hiyec JR ect?

Here is a link to a servo chart used for Logo helicopters. http://www.logoheli.com/servos.htm They show all the mini servos used and the JR DS-3421 are the only ones recomended for heavy 3D. You can get them at Heliproz for $84.95 each. Here is the link http://www6.mailordercentral.com/he...aitem=1&mitem=1 Rick's also sells them as well. The Futaba 3102's aren't digital, they don't have any ball bearings and they don't have cordless motors. Their also very slow at .25.

Take Care,
Cheers, Patrick

Hello,

The JR DS-3421 servos are a good choice. Has anybody tried Futaba's S9650 Mini servo? It is a digital servo and rated for 62.5 ozs of torque and .11 seconds for speed at 6 volts. It costs just $60 on line.

Do any BEC's offer adjustable output voltages? Futaba's spec for the GY401 is 4 to 6 volts but the 9253 is only rated at 4.8 volts. Any body out there that have used the Futaba 9253 on 6 volts?

Not that I know of. However, there is a 6 V version of the UBEC available.

I haven't done it personally and Futaba does not recommend it; but, I know at a least two guys at my field who have been using them with 5-cell rx packs since the 401/9253 combo has existed and they haven't had any problems.

Hello

Im using Hitec 85's with metal gears and they seem to be doing a really nice job. I toss my Logo around quite a bit and they definitally seem to be holding up.

I push the logo 10's as hard, or harder, than anyone and use 3102's. Speed isn't a big issue, you can't tell the difference in the normal .18~.22 servos in use with larger glow machines, and the .25 of the 3102's. I first tried HS85's, but they are so horrible with freeplay I changed to the 3102's and have never looked back. the 3102's stay "tight" with no freeplay or centering issues. Using the new small digitals (9650's) in the logo 14 and they are great , but of course more expensive.

As for another question in this thread, I've used 6V input with the GY401/9253 in several helis over the years. The gyro supplies power to the servo, and it is regulated, so there is not an issue with using 6V input.
