Hi Guys, thanks for the replies!

Hey z11355,

I noticed in your diagram you are still using a line from the fuel tank to the pressure tap on the muffler. I was under the impression that the line to the muffler would be eliminated. In fact, I just took a look at the instructions and it states that the muffler pressure should not be used. I'm missing something? Can you please cofirm.

PERRY PUMP

Can someone please explain the reason for adding the perry pump and the advantages of this setup . I just installed a OS 91 in my Vigor and am in the process of running in the enging - so far 5 tanks of fuel .

Why the overflow line with the one-way valve?

Which way is the one-way going?

Or does this allow the engine to bypass the pump if it needs more fuel?

From the picture it appears that the "open" line will run to the fuel tank clunk line. Am I to assume that your friend leaves the muffler attached to the other end of the fuel tank?

They way it was explained to me was that by using the pump in this manner you set up a constant fuel flow and that the "T" to the carb inlet lets the motor pull as much fuel as it needs from that flow. Any excess not used is directed back to the fuel tank. I suppose you'll see many different ways to get that done.

This is a trick to use a pump on a non pump carb. It's been around for years. It helps keep the midrange from being overly rich. You can use it with the perry vibrating pump too.

The check valve needs to flow from the carb back to the tank.

Hey David - the picture from the model show might work (although its different from Curtis' setup - and we know that works). The discharge of the pump is the highest pressure, and in suction of the pump is the lowest. The carb has a constant loop of fuel to take from. The only difference between the two setups is that Curtis' returns the fuel to the tank (at muffler pressure) and the show setup returns the fuel to the pump suction (muffler pressure + the head of the fuel due to fuel height above the pump suction). Do you know if the model show setup uses muffler pressure?
