about glow igniters!

How long generally do you leave your glow igniter on when you start the engine? I had a hard time keeping my engine running yesterday, it was cool outside. I'd start it and get it running, take the glow plug off and carry the heli to the launch area and start walking back and it would quit on me. Should I leave my igniter on for longer? Should the igniter be left on till it's carried out to the launch area?

Raptor 30, OS32 SX-H, Hitec Eclipse 7.

Thanks

RaptorHelius!!

First start of the day or cold day 15 sec otherwise as quick as I can get it off. Or you can just fly with it ( I don't believe I said that)

Question?

Hey Doug, "I don't believe I said that" hehehe.......I don't believe I actually DID that!!
Some days it's better to just sit and watch the flying.
One things for sure, I couldn't have had a flame out!!
