I have set up my GV-1 to control fuel mixture, works as it should in Normal and Idle up 1 &2, but when i hit Throttle hold, the needle goes all the way lean (mix off)....there are no settings for Thottle hold mixture control on the GV-1 or on the Tx (9CHP)....shouldnt it keep its default setting or something, instead of turning off?

Anyone have any ideas?

Hi I run GV1's on my heli's but do not use the fuel mix side of it . Why do you use throttle hold and idle up ? I have my Gv1 just set to 3 different head speeds most of the time I only use the one speed. I have the FF9 CHP I use switch D to turn the gv1 on and off and switch C for the speed control 1900 1950 2000 RPM head speed on my Raptor +/- 10deg pitch this seems to work on most 3 D moves.

There are different fuel mix curves, 1 for Normal, 1 for idle1/2...and thats it...no Throttle hold setting...so when i want to do an Auto and i hit the throttle hold, the needle goes all the way lean, instead of keeping its default center position...increasing the Idle speed...

So what i did was, hooked the servo directly up to the Rx , used an Aux channel, and programmed the Fuel Mix curves on the Radio (9CHP)

i also programmed a mix to the VR-B knob, so i can just adjust the fuel mix on the fly...i did this so i could get off the messy Uniflow system and still maintain consistant fuel mix...

GV-1 does not seem to support Throttle Hold for its fuel mix function...

I have just had a look at my radio FF9 CHP as far as I know it is the new model. Looking in my Manual page 94/95 it tells you how to set up the mix. As far as I can see you can set it up like a pitch curve using 5 positions and it tells you section 7 page 94 (selection of OFF at Throttle Hold)

Kauaison,

Are you saying that you entered a unique 9 point mixture curve into the GV-1 for each of the flight modes? Or are you using a mixture curve function on your Tx? I am pretty sure the GV-1 only supports a single 9-point mixture curve (programmed internally). If you have the mixture mode (MxMD screen on GV-1) set to 'Gov', then the 9 point mixture curve entered on the GV-1 screen gets used. If the mode is set to 'Dir', the GV-1 gets its info from the Tx (I've never used this mode and the instructions make it sound like it's only used for setting up the GV-1 and not actually for flying...).

One other thing to note (and I don't know if this is complicating the issue or not but...) when using the GV-1 to do mixture control, you can use channel 8 to manually bump the mixture richer or leaner, but the full effect only is apparent at wide open throttle. At typical hovering positions, I don't see the Channel 8 knob have any effect on the mixture.
