It’s rather interesting at a local club site here near me. As long as you fly planks you are their best buds. Go and pull out the heli after a day of flying with everyone, you get shunned like a leper to the other side of the parking lot until you put it away and fly your plane again….

Heli and plank

Keep working on it TTGecko, we had the same issues for a while. 100 planks, 2 helis. Then the population started to change as other new guys changed over to helis. We now have 22 heli members, a seperate flying area, and agreement that helis and plans can share the big field. We also had our first heli only FF last year and it was FABULOUS
Second Annual Central Ohio Heli Fun Fly
Go to the meetings, be active, FLY A LOT!! and you will have great results.

i think people are starting to be less fearful of the helis and are going to open up to us, they always have a few give aways at our club meetings, and just recently they started giving away heli fuel...changes!

Lately I see more heli flyers at our field than plankers. I'm not sure if the hobby is going this way or what. A lot of good lower cost products, simulators and available help lowers the barriers to success with choppers.
