hi guys, need some help

ok i just got myself a zoom 400 heli, and i've decided to go straight to brushless, after some reading i decided on the himax 2025-4200 motor and pheonix 25 esc, the problem is the pinion, the one which comes on the zoom 400 is 10t, this will give me a headspeed around 27 - 2800 on this setup, which is more than i'd like, a 9t would give me around 25 - 2600, however finding somewhere to sell me the pinions is the problem, do any of you guys know anybody who sells a pinion with these specs, 48 pitch, 9t, 2mm bore, and 9mm long, the way the drivetrain is on the zoom the pinion connects to the main and tail gear from the same pinion so it's quite long, anyway any help or suggestions would be much appreciatted

cheers for that mat, i'll still be waiting for a while yet for my lithium battery's and motor/esc to arrive so i might just hang on and buy a new protech pinion, will they be offering them with a 2mm bore aswell to cater for brushless motor's, it looks as if the standard motor pinions are 2.3 though i cant be certain my measuring equipment isn't that accurate.

cheers

Hi Gareth
Protech will offer them in 2mm and 2.3mm, the std motor has a 2.3mm shaft.

Gareth - If you can't wait until the end of the month..........http://www.hobby-lobby.com/pinions.htm
You still have to stack two on the shaft of your BL motor but they come with the correct Loctite green formula. I have over two hours on my Zooms setup this way with no problems.

cheers hoverup, by the way where can i get me one of those cool lookin gyro mount's i've gotta try and shoehorn all of it in there somehow including a 240 gyro, and i reckon that'd make life alot easier, though i've already made up a carbon pushrod for the stock servo position so i wouldn't need the servo mount on it, just curious anyway

They will be available from www.mjpcarbon.com in the next couple days. Mark Pozzuoli and I colaborated to develop the Gyro mount, a forward battery chassis extender, and a set of fins for the Zoom 400. All are CNC bits from carbon fiber and no permanent alterations are required to the Zoom chassis.
