fullerflyer Heliman Location: Dallas, TX
| What's the deal with Clockwise vs. Counter-Clockwise rotors?
I only ask, because, there are many very nice .30 size scale heli's floatin' around in these parts, however, I'm curious as to why mechs and scale fuse's (particularly Century) all have the tailrotor on the right side of the fuse, when in fact, most full-size choppers (Bell 222/Airwolf particularly) have the tailrotor on the left side.
I'm assuming there's some reason for this? If not, I'd assume many of you would be altering your projects for more "scale-like" replication...
I have noticed that Vario's scale helis do have the rotor direction/Tailrotor location on the proper side. Furthermore, they also offer flybarless head configurations, which I'm sure if another animal all together...
With regards to Century, is this simply a manufacturing issue, in that all of their pod and booms have opposite rotor direction/tailrotor location than the full size choppers, and therefore their scale helis are too? Or is this due to some flight characteristic which makes it easier to fly this way?
Also, could one feasibly reverse the direction of the rotor, and change the side of the tailrotor on these heli's without any problems.
Thanks.
