how would the stock setup on the ve fly with a 10 cell pack compared to the 8 cell? or is it going to change alot with out a pinion change

Performance!

It would be good but not for long brushed motors are being pushed on 8 cells let alone 10. Plus the stock esc is only good to 8 cells. If you go 10 you need to go down 2 teeth on the pinion also.

Better!

Depends on the cells you use. Nicads will produce a lower headspeed than a nimh. The 2000mah nimh are the best because of the weight factor. But the 3300's aren't that much heavier in an 8 cell configuration. If later you decide to go brushless, design a setup around 10 cells. That way lipos can be droped in at a later date. Generaly more power more duration and will go through brushes quicker.
