| I have spoken last year with the Juraj Tinka (designer of Hacker /Jeti ESC) about this thema. I have had a composite body engine (retired F5B's Kontronik 38-50 with gear box for an e-glider) and asked about the optimal setup for that. I have been told that i most cases the default values are the best and anyway even for such for some nonstandard motors such as composite body Kontronik.
Finmaly the best approach is to try it. there is nothing to loose). So finaly the best recomendation would be the simplest - 2 pole motor gives you two basic options for timing and for not more than 2 frequencies.
To be open I have never sae any difference for the freqency, therefore just two timing possibilities left. The difference is usually more in the thermal loses (efficiency). Try both and you will see - I guess that mode 1 / 8 kHz will be the result ...
