MOZZER Senior Heliman Location: St. Peters Missouri
| Hello, I've been busy, but have recently continued the final assembly of my Corona. All I need are the main battery packs, which should be arriving probably tomorrow. The problem I've ran into with putting a heli together with seperates, as I can afford them, is that by the time I get the parts to continue the project, I've done forgot much of the info and names for parts that I had previously learned, which brings me to my question. Last week when I began final assembly the subrotor, follower arm, swashplate, and control arm were all level, just as the manual stated it should be. However, this evening, when attempting to connect the crown gear, I noticed that all those parts were no longer level with one another. For instance if I move the follower arm until level, the control arm won't be level and vise versa. In addition, there should be more of the main shaft sticking out at the bottom for the crown gear to attach to. If I push the main shaft up to level the parts, then there's not enough of the shaft on the bottom to correctly mount the crown gear. I know I'm not crazy when I remember that last week these things were ok. The only thing I've done after the alignment was correct was to snap the mixing arms in place. From what I've read, correct bending of the mixing arms can be a real problem. Any suggestions? Thanks, Steve. |
