Cookie Bear Heliman Location: Wellington, New Zealand
| Hi guys
I test flew my new 3DNT yesterday - hover only, but I can see its going to be an awesome machine. Main problem was that when the tail rotor pitch slider is exactly in the centre of its travel (with 7 mm travel available each way) the rotor blades have zero pitch. I would have thought that the "neutral" position would have needed 7-8 degrees of pitch to yaw the heli in the direction of main rotor rotation - and that the "control" travel would then be 7 mm either way from this neutral position. That's the way it was with my Vigor CS for example. I've changed it so that I have about 7 deg pitch when the tail servo is centred, but now only 6 mm travel right and 8 deg left. This seems the best compromise that I can see, but gives more tail rotor power in one direction than the other. Any comments? |
