The AW ban extension was "tacked on" to the gunmaker immunity bill by the dems . Once again, the only winners are the special interests(gunmakers) and not the people. I'm all for tort reform but this time, the price was too high.

Looks like this news is confused.

To protect gun makers from law suits is much more important for us than what the style of the gun is. so this is more of a victory for republicans and gun owners than for gun opponents.

No doubt it is a compromize, but it looks to me that the tide of product liability, and government trying to "protect us" VS people being responsible for them selves, is turning in a more reasonable direction finally.

Everyone keeps talking about the assault weapons ban but what happens to the 10 round mag limit? To me, that was far more devastating yet I never hear it mentioned. Is that separate? I thought that was supposed to sunset with the assault weapons ban?

It looks like the NRA came through after all. The senate has killed the bill completely. The NRA circulated a memo withdrawing their support for the bill after the ammendments were added and the entire bill was voted down by an overwhelming majority. From the start, the NRA claimed it would not support the bill with any ammendments.
