I would say that the 'stretch' mod with long CF blades would be the second thing to do before anything other than brushless motor.

What does the "stretch" mod do for you?

Stretch mod:
Makes the heli MUCH more stable.

Generally, the bigger the machine, the more stable it is.

I found that in addition to making the heli more stable, it also improved the responsiveness. I presume this is due to the much lighter disc loading that occurs with the 470mm blades. Overall, the handling of the heli is improved in almost all areas.

The stretch isn't available as a kit. You need a Venture 30 tailboom, an ECO 16 tail belt and a set of MS 470mm blades. In addition, you will need a longer replacement for your T/R pushrod (I used a carbon fiber rod).

To do the mod, you cut down the Venture boom to the appropriate size (I don't remember what amount to remove), put your tail case on the new boom with the longer belt and mount it in the normal fashion. Cut your new t/r pushrod to lenght, install and adjust. Mount your blades, check / adjust your CG and then enjoy a totally new (feeling) VE.

BTW...this is NOT recommended for use with the stock motor.

What flight time do you get out of the Li-Po batteries with that setup?

I get about 25 minutes. Thats an approximation though since I don't try to fly out the full pack. I usually fly for 8-12 minutes, then take a break or go fly my Venture for a tank, then back to the VE. If I'm not in a hurry to fly again, I'll toss it on the charger as soon as the pack cools down, so I'm frequently flying on a fresh pack every time I fly. I suspect I could get a full 30 from it if I was just doing easy FF, but I don't want to take the chance of over-discharging the pack, so I break the flights up.
