Most of you probably already know about this but I found an incredibly complete guide to electric helis at http://ehbg.rchomepage.com/

There is a Word and a PDF version to be downloaded at that location. Mr. Toshi Morita created it and it contains EVERYTHING you need to know. Perhaps some more experienced helipeople could take a look at it and validate its completeness for us newbies.

I am laughing that you, the author, read my post. Thank you for assembling all of this valuable info in one place. It is a treasure for this newbie. You did a great job.

Seriously, v12 will be out in a month or two, probably.

Here's a quick preview of changes in v12:

Helicopter Setup: In v11, forgot to explain how to do transmitter setup on 90 degree non-CCPM swashplates, and how to set the travel range on the cyclic servos and setting the pitch range in idle-up and throttle hold modes. This stuff will be added in v12.

Flight simulators: Add small mention of the Reflex flight simulator.

Motors: Added a few new entries

Construction tips: Added new tips for the Micro Heaven

Model Info: Added new entries for the Hornet 2 and some other models.

That's all I can think of offhand. There will probably be a few more changes before I release v12, though.

Thanks for the preview. A great reference will be even better. I am looking forward to it. Where is the best place to watch for the new version?

New version 13 is up - same site.

Clarified the swashplate setup, added a section on tweaking heli twitchiness, and lots of minor updates.

If I am understanding your throttle curve setup correctly, as long as the head speed is at, or no more than 2000 to 2400 for a CP micro heli such as a Trex 450xL at 90% throttle, at half stick and above, your good. Is that corect?
