| what anonymizer does is simply fetch the webpage for you and then display it through their servers instead of the ones the webpage lives on, masking your ip. anonymizer does know your ip but the server the webpage originates from does not, it only sees anonymizer's ip address.
it has nothing to do with static and dynamic ip addresses your ISP assigns your computer, it is a proxy to make it look like you are coming from somewhere else instead of your machine.
heres proof, first try this url
http://www.lawrencegoetz.com/programs/ipinfo/
now put it into the anonymizer, it comes up with different ip addresses, see?
if you are hidden behind a router / residential home gateway, the ip assigned to the gateway is the one that the world sees, your private one, usually 192.168.1.x is only for use on lans and is non routeable. somebody from outside your lan would see your ip as a 'real' ip address like 123.456.789.10, not 192.168.1.x
if you are planning on using this for nefarious purposes, i wouldnt bet on it to be very secure because i am sure they keep logs of who goes where, when and for how long and are ready to give them up to the authorities if needed. |
