| Turbine soundHi, Mike Bailey here. I would like to do the conversion for the Cuatro to fit my box and engine if there is enough market for it!!! Infact any conversion I am interested in.
The sound problem is if you downloaded it from my site it is highly compressed. I will put and good quality mp3 file for download soon.
The twin shaft system actually sounds like the real thing as the engine changes in RPM throughout its flight, I.E. to gain more power the core engine spins from 110,000RPM at hover to approx 130,000RPM at full climb out, The engine can go to 160,000RPM but this is far too much power for my test rig which has 1780 Blades on with about 14deg pitch.
Also you don't hear quite as much air with this system as the core engine is a "gas generator" type therefore not supplying such High speed air (thrust) so the engine whistling is more prominent!!!!.

Got to say though that Bailey's g'box would be my choice for a cuatro conversion - small, and neat.
