Aerial Photography and Video > Minolta Dimage A1 video output

Is anyone familiar with or has anyone used the Minolta Dimage series of digital cameras, either the 7 series or the new A1. I'm trying to find out if the video output can be used "live". So that the camera can be plugged into a wireless video downlink transmitter. I know that the video output can be used in playback mode, but live I'm not sure.....the manual only refers to playback mode.

Any help is much appreciated.

I use the Dimage 7H, video out is a live preview, works great for lining up your shot.

I can second that I have/am using the Dimage 7, hook up the the AV out to your downlink and .....................Bam!

Works Fine

I use the A-1 as well, no problems with downlinks appllications. I do think the jack for the 7i will hold up better than square pin on the A-1.

I'm flying a DiMage 7 myself, it works beautifully!

My camera operater tells me not only can you see well enough to fly the heli with this thing (or so he thinks, he can't fly a heli), but he can tell how the shot came out when he pulls the trigger because I have the camera setup to preview the shot for a second.

Very nice unit. Anyone needing help with this unit can PM or e-mail me. We use 2 of these units a regular basis. Very durable camera.
