I purchased 3 9252's from Helihut in Feb for my Fury Expert. Upon checking over for a preflight today, I found that 2 of them were not moving, apparently bad motors. The heli only has three gallons through it, mostly hovering and circuits. My questions is this: Will Futaba USa warranty cover these -or should I send them back to Helihut? Anyone else encounter service problems with futaba for stuff purchased from Helihut or Cyberheli? Let me hear from anyone who's had similar experiences.

Thanks,

US warrantee

Futaba USA will not cover them as for a US warrantee is concerned, call Heli hut or e mail them about the problem Heli hut should warrantee them through Futaba. But this is the deal and how it goes, its a waiting game Futaba warrantees are Ok not the best. For what you describe it should be warranted, but Heli hut is probably not going to warrantee because he has to send it back to his supplier (Futaba or some over seas place) and then its a waiting process I know its takes about 3 to 4 months for Futaba to see what's wrong with it and then if they want to fix that servo under warrantee or replace it, or label it abused or a crashed servo and not warrantable at all. Then your out those servos for that amount of time.
Good luck

Loose Connections?

Hey guys -

Helihut said that they would do what they could, but after checking everything and charging the batteries, they all work again. I found no frayed wires, and they're running through the frames, but the connectors did seem not fully seated in the receiver. Could that have caused the seeming failure? I am running a 1700 pack, and the heli flew fine yesterday.

Are you using a five cell pack. These servos do not like 6 volts, and that can cause them to fail, because a fully charged 6 volt pack can peak close to 8 volts.

No - 4.8 volt pack. Thanks for the tip though!

Far be it from me to suggest something immoral and potentially unethical but......... US distributers charging 100% more for the same part isn't exactly saintly either.

To get warranty service for your 9252s you need to buy one in the US. Tower, servo city etc. Then you have warranty service for a 9252 servo. I can't remember which servo I bought where and there are no SNs on the case so I assume the bad one is the one I bought in the US. Copy the US receipt and send the servo to Futaba / JR / Whoever.

Who just yesterday used a U$500 screwdriver to install a U$62 screw in a U$85,000,000 US Navy P-3 aircraft.
