some of you are some brainy characters... has anyone converted a diesel engine (tractor, car, red neck truck, VW, or old Benz) to run off used up cooking oil??? I was just wondering the pros and cons to this one.... (I'm actually sitting around the house, waiting for my FAA multi checkride) and was thinking about buying an old beater benz or VW for a project car this summer.... Should be pretty easy here in the hot florida climate... no gelling of the "fuel" due to the heat... any thoughts... tree hugger I'm not.. cheap bastard... I AM!!

There is some guy here in Aus that has converted to cooking oil. I'll see if I can find anything about it for ya.

Also coconut oil is very good. If you get enough nuts to crush.

Not a chance Ken... A car like that cannot smell like French Fries going down the road... Now an old clunker benz could work.. I am reading that clogging fuel injectors might be an issue.. (like that would stop me ) Some dude up in Canada did this to an old internation truck I caught on TV one day.....

I also saw a guy on the news

Here in Jacksonville florida that has a vw bug converted over to used cooking oil from restaurants,He said he really likes the resturants that cook with olive oil,That it is the best running fuel out there.Could you imagine how the car would run off some oil from the KRYSTAL.You would FART just sitting next to it at a redlight
