Hey everyone, I really hate to bash, but when it's due, it's due... I want to warn everyone about my experience with these folks:

I ordered a starter and power panel from them on Friday Jan 30th. When a week passes by and my order has not arrived, I called them Monday Feb. 9th to find out what the status was. The guy tells me "Oh yeah, I was going to call you about that. The power panel you ordered has been discontinued." So, they sat on my order for over a week without telling me what the problem was.

I told him don't worry about the power panel, go ahead and send me the starter. The next day (Feb. 10th) after work, I have a message on my answering machine telling me that the replacement for the discontinued panel will be available soon and wanted to know if I wanted that one. I call them back and told them again, NO! Please just send me the starter. (I ended up ordering a power panel from Tower and IT WAS IN MY HANDS WITHIN 3 DAYS!) I also asked them to refund my money for the power panel (everything was paid for with PayPal).

When they refunded my money they did it as a normal PayPal payment, not a straight refund, and since I'm set up as a merchant account because of ebay, PayPal deducted a transaction fee for the refund! Yes, it was a small amount...but DAMMIT...this is really pissing me off.

So, again I wait nearly another week and it's still not freaking here! I called on Monday Feb. 16th and asked if they had shipped it. He said "Oh yeah, we shipped that out priority mail middle of last week. You should have it."

I expected it to be here today, Tuesday Feb. 17th, but it's still a no-show. I decided that if I didn't get it today, I was going to post this to this board to warn everyone. I'm EXTREMELY disappointed with these people. We're going on three weeks since I placed the original order!

BTW, the reason I ordered from them in the first place was because they were the only ones that I could find that said they had the power panel I wanted in stock...and yes I knew that Hobbico had discontinued the particular one I wanted. But, it had features I really liked and I still wanted it. I guess the desire to have that particular panel cost me a real pain in the ass...

Mr. Lewis,

I am sorry that you had a bad online ordering experience with our company. Ultimate R/C has been doing online business with the modeling community since 1998. We send out orders daily not limited to the US but to modelers all over the world.
When I spoke to you on Saturday February 10'th I expressed my apologies at that time about the mix up on your order. I told you that I would send the starter out to you on Monday February 12'th. I left you a message Monday the 12'th letting you know that I had received conformation that the new power panels would be here on the 14'th. I was not at the store when you returned my call on Monday afternoon and told my guy that you had already taken care of your power panel needs. I immediately sat down and refunded your paypal account for the power panel. and your starter was shipped out on the very next morning.
Once again I will apologize to you for the mix up and if you will tell me how much paypal charged you I will be more than happy to send you the difference.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I've gone back and edited my original post a bit to take out some of the unecessary adjectives I used. I was a bit harsh, but I was also quite angry that I missed two weekends of flying because I was uncecessarily waiting on parts from your company (parts that were supposedly in stock).

The only reason our paths crossed was because I did a search on the Internet for anyone who was still selling that panel. Obviously you hadn't updated your site to reflect that it was no longer available. It should have sent up a red flag that you were among only about 8 sites that still showed that panel in stock. I knew the new one was coming out, but I didn't want to wait for it. This was a problem just waiting to happen...had your site been properly updated my order would have never been placed with you.

I stand by my original post. I feel that it is quite unacceptable to take nearly three weeks to get the items I ordered to me. The week prior to ordering from you, I spent a total of over $1,000 at multiple sites and EVERY single one shipped to me within 4 days. I had everything by the end of that very week. I even ordered some stuff that came from Hong Kong (rc-mushroom) and it was in my hands within 3 days!

I acknowledge that you quickly refunded my money for the one item...but since I had a few dollars taken from the transaction due to PayPal fees...it was just another point to fuel my irritation about my whole ordering experience. There is no need in bothering with refunding those fees and I do appreciate your offer to do so.
