Hi,

I'm using the Gov function on my esc and on the start up procedure it say connect battery at high throttle wait for the two beeps then go to low throttle wait for one beep and it's armed. Do I need to do this every time or is it only the first or say if you had to change throttle atv's ?

Thanks

Simon.

No, you don't need to do it that way. You can if you want, but it's not necessary.

I just plug it in at low stick wait for confirmation tune (rising and falling tone for Gov mode) and single beep then fly.

Seems to work fine for me. I think you may be confusing it with the procedure for changing from standard mode to expert mode (Gov mode).

Cheers, Hayden.

Ok

So I could plug battery in at low stick wait for beep then flick throttle hold to carry model or same again and use my throttle hold when doing a range check.

Yes that sound's ok.

My radio has a "Lock" funtion button that locks the throttle in any position. So I usally use that.

But throttle Hold mode should be fine also.

I have an 18.46k in my Logo. I like to plug the battery in at full throttle to get the double beep and then go to low throttle after I've moved away from the heli. It makes me feel better that it is a two-step arming process.

You should not be carrying the heli with the battery plugged in! Don't plug in the battery until you are at the spot where you are going take off. Then, when done flying, immediately unplug the battery before carrying it again.

No, he isn't. This is a valid startup routine for the 18.46k. Again, it makes it a two-step arming process which seems safer to me.

Referring to the manual (downloaded English version, as mine was in German).
It is not a two-step arming process for "Heli" mode, that method is only used for "Wing" mode (Airplane mode). When you connect the flight pack at full throttle. All the double beep is doing, is telling you that the pitch stick is in the full throttle position, it not part of the arming process in "Heli" mode, only in "Wing" mode and it only arms it self with the pitch stick in the low (stopped) position.

I'm not saying that it's the wrong, not the best or safest way of doing it. I'm just say that it can be done both ways and it doesn't need to be done that way, booth ways will work fine, as far as I know. The way I have been doing it, is how it said in the manual.

I do agree with John, that it's not a good idea to carry the Heli around with the flight pack connected. I also connect and disconnect the pack when the Heli is on the take off and landing spot.

Cheers, Hayden

> It is not a two-step arming process for "Heli" mode,

You are correct, it is not a true "two-step" arming process. However, full throttle is a long way from zero throttle on the stick. And, I would much rather not have the ESC arm as soon as I plug the battery in. By using my method, the ESC will not be armed until I am away from the heli.
