...Try to avoid discharging a garden-variety deep-cycle lead acid battery to less than 50% state of charge. Proper maintenance of this battery is important for reasonable life.
In rough terms and assuming 80% efficiency, VinXCin = VoutXCout/0.8. Vin is approx 12V. Vout is approx 44V. Cout is approx 3Ah. Therefore Cin is approx. (44/12X0.8)X3 = 13.75Ah. In other words, each charge of your 32 cell pack will consume about 14 Ah out of your field battery. To get three charges without going below 50% SOC, you need a battery with 84Ah capacity.
Bigger is better. Get the biggest one you can carry!!!...
So you'll get about five. Be warned, however, that if you discharge your battery below 50% SOC regularly the number of charges you can get will decrease at an alarming rate....
