I hate cops who write speeding tickets. Just another fleecing of the public to pay for some liberals social engineering project.

Oh yeah - I know I will hear about how some speeder cause a fatality, etc. I don't care.

These cops should be working on more important things or receiving better forensic training so they don't uck up something on a more important violation.

I am not anti-cop. I am anti highway patrol and speeding tickets. Why not give a ticket to the douche doing 5 below the spped limit in the left lane while riding right next to some other douche.

I like to see the videos of cops beating the hell out of criminals. Maybe instead of highway patrol - these guys should be in the gym so they can bulk up and give a proper ass whoopin to some of these deadbeats in society. Thats a cops job! Laying the smack down on deadbeat criminals crackheads and wellfare abusers!!

well

I am in BC, Canada and this is what people do here.

"If you get a ticket, Dispute it!"
that's what people all say.

For me I got a ticket once. Its a 2 in one package deal^^.
One for not displaying a "N" sign (just something we have here)
and One for speeding.

It was my first ticket so I did the honest thing. I paid for not displaying the N sign. but I disputed the speeding part simply because, you guessed it, I just don't believe that I am driving 120km/h in a 60km/h area. Not to mention all the snow that just melted and cars in front and back of me going 70km/h! Jesus...common sense should kick in that officer's head.......

but anyway...Very pricy ticket indeed.
Went to the court.
Police officer didn't show up. and if I said I wish to proceed with the case I would have won. (that's why everybody tells me to dispute it I guess. They all say if police don't show up then you'll probably win...and from my experience they...really...didn't show up^^)

I was stupid enough to say. "I'll just come next time"

anyway... I went again (its 1 hr to drive up there). and this time the Judge was "SICK"! WTF!

dunno why but they never call me up there again... just like... its solved somehow?...

Oh yeah. BTW

I also got bumped by a police car before...

he pulled up behind me...
I slowed down and pulled over.

Then Boom! police car hits my car!

Well, after, his supervisor came...took him long enough.

And gave me his card...said they won't give me a ticket and if I have any problem I could call them...

Guess I could sue them for a few K...but...
well...I thought why give a newbie a hard time.
I didn't get hurt and my car was fine... so I let this one go.
Bet his supervisor gave him a hard time?

Any police officers here done something like that? haha
It was actually quite an experience for me...
as a good citizen^^...you just don't get the chance of getting bumped by a police car.

This is an easy one

I am a 12 year veteran ex Police Officer now working as a Legal Services Broker via Pre Paid Legal Services out of Ada, OK. This type of situation is exacty why my clients pay $25-26/month to cover their entire family such that they never have to make the economic choice of comparing defense costs to fines and court costs. I would suggest that you read up on this web site: www.pplsi.com and locate a broker there in your state. If you cannot, I will try to help you. Unfortunately your case is fairly easy to win but requires a lawyer with the favor of the court to get a sympathic ear. This is why I never became a lawyer because of the shameless politic at work in nearly ever courtroom and related affairs. It is all about election, reelection, favors, golf and shameless prejudices carefully shrouded by statues and the guise of Judicial ethics and discretion. I believe that you can win from what I have heard just because of the conflicting scientific evidence alone but, the reality is that to get someone to listen without going to trial you NEED A LAWYER. You have my sympathies. One would think that the officers at the scene could have used sound judgement and passed on both of their citations in the interest of judicial efficency and conflicts of evidence. You know just common sense. When you run traffic there are plenty of tickets to write without having to write the questionable ones guy, JEEZE! Good luck to you.

Matlock,

No offense was taken, guy. Apology appreciated, but not necessary.

And I hear you regarding the necessity of theories and principles.

I ask one favor; do not forget from whence you came. I know a half-dozen cops-turned-lawyer, and all but one have become, well... lawyers.

Stay safe, brother.

driving for 8 years without a license

my cousin lives down south, (down south and to the right some),,, where he lives they very rarely get snow, well one night they got snow, and on his way to work in the morning he skidded of the left side of the road while he was turning right, some lady pulled up in front of him in a Vett, when the police came and the lady told the police my cousin scratched the lower right side rocker panel when he hit her (he never hit the Vett, she pulled up and stoped in front of his Blazer after he went off the road !!),,,

(to make this short) the lady took my cousin to court, even though the Vett was parked in front of him my cousin's Blazer he was found guilty, the Judge ordered my cousin to pay the lady $4000, and took my cousin's license until he paid the lady in full, well my cousin never paid that lady a penny, and he has been driving without a license for some 8 years now...

Well, thanks for the advice guys.

I am thinking that one of the tickets should be dropped and the deferred (pay the money and it don't go on your record unless you mess up again in the next year)

What gets me is that both officers were talking to each other for about 5 minutes before either one wrote a ticket. I just don't get it.

I agree that there are different sides to each story, and rarely aer the facts all clear.

Anyway, thanks, and I'll let you all know what happened.
