Okay I dont understand this C rating on batterys for charging

These are some of my packs

10 cell HR2600 nicad
8 cell 3000 nimh HHR300SCZ
6 cell 1200 nicad 7.2v-1200mah

What is this C rating thing?
So a 2600 cell pack would be 1 C 2.6 amps -- 2 C 5.2 amps ---3 C 7.8-- 4 C 10.4 and so on for charging.

1 C x 2600mh = 2.6
2 C x 2600mh= 5.2
3 C x 26000mh=7.8
4 C x26000mh= 10.4
and so on

How do you know what the C rating is I dont see anything on the battery pack. I know my packs are C size

Yes, you are right C stands for capacity so it means for 3300mAh pack 1C = 3300mAh = 3,3Ah.
Therefore when instruction manual says that maximum discharge rate for 3300mA batteries is 5C it means maximum discharge rate you can(should) use is 5 x 1C = 5 x 3,3A = 16,5A. If you discharge more you can damage or shorten lifetime of your batteries (in helis we often do :-).
Same apply for charging so you can read very often on your battery something like "maximum fast charge rate 1C" instead of "maximum fast charge rate 3,3A".
This "C" has nothing to do with physical battery size where AA, AAA, C, SC stands for the battery outline dimensions.
