i hit some black ice with my TT last winter, right outside of my house, and with the hard tires, i slid over 150' down hill, with absolutely no controll, untill my TT stopped on the curb sideways ... ripped out my rear left wheel completely, snapped the rack/pinion, and did some serious suspension damage .. the body had not a scratch ... $12,000 of insurance money later, it was back like new .. so this winter my TT is under a pile of snow till the winter goes away ...

wiwanczyk...OUCH.

Last winter I came around a corner and some guy was sideways across the road, right after a blind corner. So I just swerved to avoid smashin in his driver door. Then with my great luck a van was coming the other way so I overcorrected and slid a good distance. Ended up jumping the curb and sliding into a tree. $500 for the suspension/steering work and another $850 for the body work. I still have not done the body work. My brother gets the car next year so Dad told be not to bother because it isn't going to make it through the winter, that is assuming he gets his liscense and makes it through the summer. Poor lil GTI
