Has anyone used the carbon fiber brushless motor and speed control from MS?......... how does it work and does a brushless last a long time without having to do some kind of maintainence?

As with any brusless setup regardless whether MS or not important point is you don't need to care about brushes. Higher effiency means also longer flight and more power. In case you take care about your motor and don't have terrible acccident only thing you need to change after long time are ball bearings if at all.
Flight time depends a lot on proper pinion so with wrong one you can have even shorter flight time.

I am using that motor with ms speed controler on the hornet 2 with the 11 toth pinion 18 min of grate flight, rolls, inverted grate
ohh 1200 mah e-tec batterie 100 fligth with 0 maintainence.
