e-Lite Machines Corona > Assembly question

Hello, I havn't asked a question in a while, but I'm always checking in to see what's being discussed. Anyway, I've been slowly putting together my Corona with seperates and because of the expense, it's taking a while, but I don't have far to go. Recently, I was reading ahead in the construction manual and noticed that the battery pack is normally installed on the right-front half of the crutch, which I would guess helps the balance of the heli considering the other parts are located on the left-side. As a result, I can see me running into a balance problem because I purchased and installed the VE/LMH struts that have the battery holder on the bottom for easier access to the battery pack (on a good note, the struts really add realism to the heli). So, not only do I not have the weight of the battery pack on the right side, but the center of the struts, where the pack will be, is also slightly to the left side, adding to the problem. Should I make every attempt to add weight to the right side by mounting reciever, gyro on that side? That still doesn't seem like it will be enough weight to make it even. I'm even considering adding the Ram lighting that has to use a 9v battery for power, and installing that on the right side too. I have the Hacker Brushless motor, so I don't think addition of more weight will hurt dramitically--hope not. Maybe the trimming will help-don't know. Please let me know if you have any suggestions, thanks , Steve.

L/R Balance will be such a small part of your Corona flying experience, it just won't matter. It may lean a little more or less but I'm betting you will never notice it. Just be concious of your F/A CG and have fun.

I think almost everyone that uses the VE struts originally mounted them for the battery holders . It certainly smooths out an already smooth heli even more, and I think you'll find you have much better control over CG hanging the battery under the crutch rather than where LMH suggests. I sure like it mounted underneath much better! side to side balance hasn't ever been an issue with mine.

Thanks

I thank you both for your input. That's one less thing I have to be concerned about. I'm happy this morning because yesterday I won almost enough on the Superbowl to pay for the RD8000 that I want. If you don't mind, I have another question. It appears that blade balancing and CG is extremely important. With that in mind, a couple of days ago, I ordered the Koll KSJ528 blade balancer. I've read that it balances blades well and spanwise too. I think I know, but what exactly is "spanwise"? Probably the distance of both main blades on the heli. I didn't get the Koll "Rotor Pro", which also measures chordwise for almost twice the cost. So, I'm just wondering what your opinion is on this particular piece of equipment and if I'm missing anything that is crucial by not having "chordwise"--I don't know what it means. Thank you, Steve.
