Tim I have to agree that the most expensive doesnt necessarily mean the best, but in the case of 936 it is true. Yes I have used an Orbit earlier when their first revision came out, and also the pro version later on. They have good features, but it's more comparable to the Schulze 330/636 class. I have since sold all my chargers and use 936 exclusively (and 636 for lipos).

The OP asked for best charger, so I posted what I think is the best out there. You can't really compare Orbit Pro with Schulze 8-936 since they are targetted at different groups. While both charger charge/discharge batteries, 936 just has so much more features. It's like comparing Porsche with Volkswagon, either will get you to the same destination.

I am sure you use some expensive radio (9Z or 10X?) because you think it's the best that suits your needs. I can also say I would rather buy two schulze charger and a pair of carbon blades before I dump that much cash into a radio that will be obslete in few years.

To each of its own...

Well, that's the way to change the subject. We were not talking about radios, just chargers. Me thinks you are dodgin' the subject.

Apples to apples not apples to oranges.

BTW, Before you claim the Orbit a VW, you might check ou the specs of the new or latst version. 12 cell lipo, up to 8 amps. Not much differen than the 936.

Still, it's your money, spend it as you like, just be realistic about your comparisons here.

Tim,

There is no sense arguing which one is the best. But I just want to set the fact straight.

Orbit Microloader pro is a 275 watts charger. The 936 is a 500+ watts charger, even the 636 is a 360 watts charger. And if you know your charger like you claim you do, then you would know there is absolutely no way Orbit Pro can charge 12 lipo cells at 8 amps. The spec is saying it can handle maximum of 12 lipo cells, but at lower amperage due to the physical hardware limiting it at 275 watts. This is true for Schulze or Orbit.

And FYI, 936 can do 10 amps on first port, 5 amps on 2nd port, and 1.5 amps on 3rd port for receiver packs concurrently. All these with real time graphical display of the charge curve. One of its unique ability is when you discharge, it puts the energy back into your 12v car battery instead of transfering into heat.

I am being realistic about the comparison. I specifically said you can't compare 936 to Orbit. All I was doing was posting what I think is the best charger in answer to the original post. You are the one jumping in trying to compare an Orbit to it.

this is about lipo chargers, and those who paid 700eur for their 936 are still waiting for a lipo update...
