guys, I'd like to replace the bearings in an aluminum swashplate. I have a couple of questions.
1. How to dissassemble swashplate and remove bearings?

2. Good source of replacement bearings OTHER THAN BOCA. I've already measured the main bearing and it is 25/32(.78125)ID, 1 1/8(1.125) OD and Boca doesn't stock that size.

The swashplate is by a company called Twin. I think they went out of business a while ago. Any help is greatly appreciated,

THANKS!!

Swash Bearing

I have never heard of anyone replacing a swash bearing as I think it would be almost imposible to guarantee an airworthy ship with one..
What heli does this go to? can you use a swash from another manufacuter.. I'm sure the time, energy and money will wasted on this as you probably could purchase another swash for much less $$ and sweat than dissasembling the swash and replacing a bearing.

well yeah, this is kind of a side project I have going now. I still have the stock swashplate on my Ergo and it works fine. I got a good deal on a used swashplate and I'm using it as a learning tool. I also plan on learning how to anodize, so if it gets fudged up or ugly then it's no big deal.

ErgoNut try going to this website for SKF bearings and see if you can find an dealer near you. http://www.skf.com/contact/
They are a very large manufacturer of bearings and might possibly make the size your looking for.
Just be sure you have the right measurements. I see you have an OD and ID but you will need the thickness also. Also keep in mind it could be a metric size. Also try looking in your yellow pages for industrial suppliers that sell bearings.

Good Luck
