e-Mikado Logo 400 500 600 > Logo 10 vs Logo 20

I'm looking to get an electric heli and see the price for the 3D version of the Logo 10 and the standard version of the Logo 20 are nearly the same. I would presume that since the 20 size is somewhat bigger, that it would be the more capable for 3D of the two. What's the difference other than size between the two, and is there any reason that the 20 wouldn't be suitable for hard 3D? Thanks. Steve.

You will need to invest more in the power system for the Logo 20 than for the Logo 10. Also, Logo 10 3D includes blades where Logo 20 doesn't

The Logo 10 is every bit as 3D capable as the Logo 20. The capabilities of both rely mostly on the setup (motor, batteries, servos, gyro, pilot, etc.), not the airframe itself.

The Logo 20 requires a more expensive motor, a more expensive ESC, and more expensive batteries. If cost is not an issue than the Logo 20 is nice just due to fact it is larger. If cost is an issue, then the Logo 10 will fly every bit as well. The Logo 10 is a great helicopter and it flies much more like a 50 size heli than a "medium electric."

I understand that the peripherals will cost more for the 20 than the 10. If they are otherwise roughly equivalent, and the cost is almost identical, then it makes sense to get the bigger one. Sort of like being offered a Raptor 30 or a 50 for the same price - it would seem foolish not to get the bigger one. As for the blades, I already have a couple pairs of CF blades that will fit the 20, but nothing for the 10 size. I was really looking to know how they spec out - does one have a better swashplate or more bearings? Do they both have an autorotation bearing on the main gear? Things like that. Thanks. steve.

I agree Steve, the 3D is so closely priced I feel the same.

The motor and ESC cost is not huge, and it does fly nicer (I like the big helis).

>Sort of like being offered a Raptor 30 or a 50 for the same price

With or without the engine, blades, etc.? The Logo 20 will cost a lot more to get setup and going with. The motor is at least $40 more and the batteries will be twice the price. That's not very close in cost since the batteries are quite bit of money.

The L20 will also cost more to repair.

The L10 3D comes with blades.

They are both very high quality machines with bearings everywhere they need to be. The L20 is an "outdated" design and is said to be soon discontinued in favor of a newer CF frame L16.

Yes.

I'm not trying to say that you shouldn't get the Logo 20 if you can afford it; I'm just disagreeing that the costs are similar.

What does this mean to us that have logo 20.s ?
Will we not be able to fix them now if we break the frame or will the new frame be a retro fit into the older logos?

I certainly don't have the inside party line on that one, but I can only assume that Mikado will continue a parts supply chain for the Logo 20. Not doing so would be a very, very bad move with respect to company respect.

Logo 20 can be converted to Logo 24 Bionic

Not only that, it can be done in steps. You can simply purchase the carbon-fiber Logo Bionic frame and use it for your Logo 20.

Then, when you want the longer tail boom, you can get that later.
