Engines Plugs Mufflers Fuel > YS 80 question

I have a YS80 and have swapped throttle barrels. Has anyone else noticed an increase in fuel consumption with the ST2 throttle barrel as opposed to the ST3 throttle barrel. Before I put in the ST2 throttle barrel I was getting 10 minute flights....now with the ST2 throttle barrel I am getting 7.5 minute flights.

Can someone tell me exactly where they have thier needles set with the ST2 throttle barrel on the YS 80? I am currently running the midrange quite a bit leaner than the manual recommends...I think 1/2 turn leaner (1 turn and 2 clicks out). 1/2 turn out on low end. Dont' remember what my high end is set at.

Thanks,
Darren

Don't go by the settings in the manual, they must have changed the needles. Everyone who has 80's is running leaner that the manual says. You must have a small tank. I get 15 to 20 minutes on my 80 in my CS. I swapped out the barrels also but have yet to notice a difference in fuel consumption. It could just be the difference in your weather.

I must be running my engine richer than I think........my fuel tank is the stock Freya tank and I am not sure how many ounces it is, but it isn't small.

Thanks for the input.

I figure my CS tank is around 20 oz's, I normally get 6 tanks and some change to a gallon of fuel. My .80 runs a temp of 180 to 200 degrees. Have you ever temped your engine? I run a header tank also but as a norm I don't fly the tank low enough to get into the header tank fuel. I have no idea other than you may be real rich, I would temp the engine to see.

I run mine around 3/4 out on both high and mid. High may be jsut under that. But thats after about 4 gallons you should be at 1 turn or a little more to get it started. Fuel consumption about 10-11min for me if I'm flying the hole time, autos and hovering much will change that some. I am also running or was running 8.8 to 1 but have just changed that and should get more time now.

I fly with the stock YS80 on the Freya and I get 10 minutes as well. But unlike the OS91, I can fly till bone dry. The OS91 starts to lean out when I only have less than 1/8 fuel left in the tank.
