i dont know about you guys, but alot of the little foam 3-d planes have been showing up to the flying feild...I thought they were kinda stupid untill i saw one fly...they do everything! torque rolls, hovering, water falls..the whole bit...and they are cheap...like a little over 170 bucks flying....WITH lipoly batteries! im probably going to build one since the air frame only cost like 10-15 bucks..then the electronics are the expensive part..Check out www.foamyfactory.com for more info on them...Im probably going to build the 3dx..should be fun to screw around in the street

KAN cells are one manufacturer's NIMH cells that take high current draw quite well

What, you haven't seen the flying foam chicken yet. My LHS has a few of them in stock.

I lost my infamous tag line.

It takes 3 but I am doing the 4 servo setup for flaperons and stuff Heres my setup if I cna find all the stuff:

Berg 5 Mini RX
Waypoint W-084 Naro Sized Servo(4 for flaperons and spoilerons)
E-Tec 3-Cell 1200 mAh Pack
Apache 1-4 Cell Lithium Polymer Charger
Pheonix 25 Brushless ESC
HiMaxx 2015-4100 Brushless Motor
GWS GEARBOX COMBO

I think its about 4 oz of electronics or so. It should be pretty fun to fly.

Corey, if you want a more 3d foam plane build the sukhoi out of fan fold or depron.

It is really a nice 3d plane.

There are several other plans over on rcgroups that are quite nice also. Look under 3d flying

Park fliers are fun...

No pressure flying... just throw it and toss it around in the sky.

I used to have a wattage sukhoi, dumped it and now I'm flying a wattage hawk. Just using the stock stuff since I don't wanna spend on it.

Corey, Fan fold foam is what everyone used before depron, also sometimes called bluecor. It is a foam used in construction and can be found at lowes sometimes. Kind of hit and miss with finding it.

The 3dx can use 3 or 4 servos, works great either way, kind of fun to have flaperons/ spoilerons though

If you are going to make one of these I would seriously look into making one of these http://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...threadid=189343

It has got a profile both ways and that really stiffens it up, Kind of like the shockflyer. I dont know if you have seen a shockflyer from ikarus but they are sick! Prob my favorite flate plate wing ever!
