After flying for a few years at a sanctioned club, so far we have been pretty lucky with no injuries. Sometimes though i wonder what IF something does go wrong? Mechanical problems, loss of radio communication, etc. I know of one person who did crash from loss of radio control. Heli just kept going and going. What a sinking feeling at the pit of ones stomach. All of us know its better to crash a heli to save a serious accident. But you have to think, anything can go wrong with dire results. These suckers are flying ginsu knives. I have thoughts in getting into elecric park flyers, just because of a lower lability issue.

my wifes cooking is so bad, the flies are sewing the holes in the screen door

Good points,
Pilot error can be dangerous too, I once saw a heli that the pilot lost control of take another guys hat off........ , he probably moved so quick it fell off, he was flying his own heli at the time and he was not injured.
Kinda like that saying the guys on the flight deck of an aircraft carrier
have "Keep your head on a Swivel".
Have the saftey of yourself and others on your mind at all times.
