No Raptors!

OK, I want a free heli but not a Raptor! They are given away like everywhere you go.

I say... a new Sceadu! Or a Shuttle RG, JR Ergo CCPM. Yea I like those. I would vote for a TSK or Baron S. They just are to questionable at the moment.

How about a change?

I was thinking about this. Is it fair to go for the most referals? or most posts?

I mean some guys post just to add to the fluff. I know one could cheat on referals. Don't ask how I know I just know.

What I would like to suggest is take the top 5 from each catogory plus a new catagory for most votes on valued contributions. Then randomly draw the names out of a hat or something.

Just some thoughts on the matter. I am the kind of guy who thinks everyone should get a chance. I never win anything

Same Here!

I agree with volkul, I thingk everyone should have a equal chance of winning. Like he said," you could easily cheat, by making up lot's of usernames". It would take a little while, but it sure would be worth a new heli too lazy, and yes, I admit it
Also, some people might not even have a site, thus, leaving them out of the contest, and thats never fun, now is it?

OK you have a point. The goal is to increase membership and get the forum past critical mass. We still have a ways to go. Membership is at 188 today but half havent visited in the last three weeks. Forums only work if people visit and contribute. So lets get the word out and also try to figure out the best balance on how forum members become eligible to win the new helicopter prize.

The software development phase for RunRyder is finished. I am preparing hardware for a RunRyder dedicated server (dual 1GHz P3's, 1gig ram, dual 30gig raid drives).

To date and into the foreseeable future there is no compensation for the work in creating runryder.com (5 man months). This is a very expensive hobby.

Well Mark, I think the origional rules were ok. The goal is to increace activity, and that is why you wrote the rules the way they were. I unfortunately, probably won't benefit from them remaining unchanged, but it is fair.

As for the expense and reward involved, I have no solution thus far. I do appreciate the fact that there are no stupid monkeys or pop ups, but I can handle some banner ads if need be. It is a small price to pay for the quality work you have done so far. I also appreciate the fact that there is a place of sancuary from competition of planksters!

Once again,

Thank you Mr. Ryder.

It helps, thanks.

Friday we had 49 posts. Thats more than any other Forum (RC Heli section) except maybe RCO (someone want to count?).

Friday's site usage statistics have never been higher (server is smoken).

You certainly are doing your part

It looks like the word has really gotten out since the fun fly and people are registering like crazy. I guess we'll have 500 members in maybe, and I'll be generous, a month?

Forget about the point of having to have a Website and simply include everyone that puts into the contest.
It also doesn't matter how often they posted and how big there contribution was because that would leave out the beginners that usually are here for help.
The more expirienced guys will keep on helping the less seasoned flyers anyway, because this is the nature of most Model Flyers.
In respect of what heli......any heli that has a reasonable reputation for reliability as we don't know if the winner is an expert or a raw beginner.
Well.....their is my 2 cents worth
